Bailey Bridge Bearing and Baseplate

The Bailey Bridge bearing and Bailey Bridge bearing baseplate form a complementary set of components within the Bailey Bridge system. The upper part of the Bailey Bridge bearing supports the end post, while the lower part connects with the bearing plate. The bearing plate is securely fixed directly to the foundation. Both components play a crucial role in stabilizing the Bailey Bridge structure.

The Bailey Bridge bearing, in conjunction with the baseplate, is fixed onto the foundation. The lower part of the end post, connected to the Bailey truss panel, is inserted into the axial beam of the Bailey Bridge bearing. Simultaneously, the load from the bridge is transmitted through the bearing to the foundation. Depending on the Bailey Bridge model and the number of installed bays, the axial beams on the bearing can range from 1 to 3, each having a different number of ends. Bridge end posts can be placed on axial beams at various positions.

Bailey Bridge bearings are typically constructed using Q345 steel and, depending on the model, have a weight ranging from 13.2 to 37.88 kg.

The Bailey Bridge bearing baseplate is used to accommodate the bridge bearing. It, in conjunction with the bearing, is placed on a solid foundation and secured to the bridge abutment using anchor bolts. Typically made of Q345 steel, its weight varies between 12.7 and 184.5 kg depending on the model.
