What is Bailey Panel?
The Bailey panel is the primary component of the main girder of the steel bridge. The Bailey bridge is a standard modular steel bridge, and a Bailey bridge panel is an independent module of the steel bridge. Many Bailey bridge panel modules and other connecting components form a Bailey steel bridge.
Bailey panel is welded by upper and lower chords, vertical bars, and diagonal bars. The ends of the upper and lower chords are provided with male and female joints, and the joints are provided with truss connecting pin holes. The chord of the Bailey bridge panel is composed of two-channel steels. On the lower chord, there are many steel plates with round holes, and there are bolt holes in the upper and lower chords for connecting with the reinforcing chord and the double-layer Bailey truss.
On the lower chord, there are 4 beam backing plates with tenons above them to fix the position of the beam on the plane. There are also two elliptical holes on the web of the channel steel at the end of the lower chord for connecting the sway brace. Bailey panel vertical rods are all made of 8# I-beam, and there is a square hole on the side of the vertical rod close to the lower chord, which is used when the beam fixture is used to fix the beam. The weight of each Bailey bridge panel varies from 270kg to 349kg depending on the specific Bailey bridge panel model.
