As the main basic Bailey bridge components, the purpose of setting the Bailey bridge reinforcing chord is to improve the bending resistance of the truss and give full play to the shear resistance of the truss web. Because the bending moment at the end of the Bailey bridge is very small, the Bailey panel at the head and tail of the steel bridge does not need to be installed with reinforcing chords.

The structural form of the reinforcement chord is similar to the upper and lower chords of the Bailey panel unit and is mainly used for the reinforcement of the upper and lower chords of the standard prefabricated steel bridge or special steel bridge truss. The Bailey bridge reinforcing chord is provided with upper and lower rows of connecting supports, the lower row is convenient for connecting with the truss chord, and the upper row is convenient for connecting with the support frame. Usually, the reinforcing chord corresponds to the setting of the beret, and the upper beret unit of the female bridge end and the male bridge end is usually not provided with a reinforcing chord.
Bailey Bridge Chord Reinforcement Specifications
The chord reinforcing is used to strengthen the bending resistance of the Bailey bridge truss and is assembled at the upper and lower chords of the truss. The first and last Bailey panels of the entire steel bridge do not need to be installed with reinforcing chords.

The length of the 321 type reinforced chord is 3000mm, and the length of the reinforced chord used by the CB100, ZB200, and CB200 Bailey bridge is 3048mm. The weight of the reinforcing chords used in different models of Bailey bridges is slightly different.
